Business Segment and Role Overview

Equities & FICC: We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.

The Systematic Trading Strategies (β€œSTS”) business group is responsible for the development of indices and strategies for all financial markets traded within FICC and Equities globally. STS gives institutional investors access to sophisticated quantitative investment strategies. Leveraging exceptional infrastructure, the STS team designs systematic indices and strategies on global markets across Equities, Interest Rates, Credit, FX and Commodities, ranging from pure market access to carry, relative value, hedging and defensive oriented strategies.

The STS team is looking to hire a Junior AI Developer/Structurer that can help accelerate the growth of the business by developing AI solutions which increase the efficiency of the business, reduce operational risks, enhance our client experience and support the creation of innovative investment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deploy a range of custom chatbots, based on foundation models, to streamline various recurring business processes within the STS business.
  • Drive significant efficiency gains through the implementation of automation solutions, incorporating both traditional automation frameworks and innovative agentic AI systems, across STS workflows.
  • Implement such AI solutions in accordance with the firm’s requirements, applicable internal policies and governance procedures.
  • Use AI to identify promising quantitative investment strategies and to create prototypes.
  • Develop AI tools which assist STS team members on the analysis of global financial markets and the creation of relevant insights.
  • Create AI solutions which reduce operational risks in the creation of quantitative investment strategies and in the execution of transactions with institutional investors.
  • Ongoing maintenance and enhancement of previously created AI systems.
  • Advise STS product developers on any potential applications of AI components within quantitative investment strategies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to deploy AI solutions which add value to the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent academic record (Bachelor or Master) in a relevant field such as computer science, artificial intelligence or machine learning.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in an AI/ML-focused software development or engineering role.
  • Strong programming proficiency in an object oriented or functional paradigm such as C++, Java or Python.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML solutions in a corporate or production environment.
  • Good understanding of software engineering best practices, version control and testing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
