TRANSACTION BANKING OPERATIONS

Transaction Banking Operations is part of Transaction Banking within the Global Banking Markets Division, comprised of the below primary functions: Combining digital expertise and financial acumen, we provide comprehensive solutions to meet our clients' complex treasury challenges and needs. We enable client success by providing a differentiated experience through our clients’ pre-sales and go-live journey, onboarding, implementation and testing, and throughout go-live and early-stage support. We provide best-in-class service to our clients post go-live across all their business needs, including payments and transactions flows across our global payment rails. We support the build and development of new Treasury Products, Services and Partnerships, alongside Product, Risk and Engineering teams, by handling all Operational process, procedures and control development. TxB Operations is a growing sub-division, with regional presence in Singapore, Bengaluru, London, New York and Dallas. All our offices work closely together as a single global team. As this business expands, we will look to increase our global footprint accordingly.

YOUR IMPACT

You will help build and operate the client service capability supporting the launch and controlled growth of the correspondent banking business. Acting as a point of contact for financial-institution clients, you will own complex payment and account-servicing matters through resolution, support launch-readiness decisions and convert early client and operational insights into scalable processes, controls and service improvements. Key client-facing responsibilities will include managing strategic client relationships, exceptions resolution, handling of escalated client inquiries and most importantly – ensuring an exceptional client experience.

Transaction Banking Operations supports Goldman Sachs' treasury, cash management and payments offerings for corporate and financial institution clients. The team designs and executes scalable service, operational and control capabilities that protect client and firm assets while enabling business growth. Operations partners closely with Product, Coverage, Digital, Compliance and Engineering across the full client and transaction lifecycle.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Correspondent banking launch and readiness: Drive assigned operational-readiness deliverables across service design, procedures, controls, training, testing, go-live and post-launch stabilization. Use correspondent banking expertise to identify service requirements, dependencies, risk scenarios, capacity considerations and escalation paths. Partner across Product, Coverage, Engineering, Implementation, Compliance, Financial Crime, Risk, Treasury, Network Management and Operations to translate requirements into executable service processes and controls.
  • Client service and relationship support: Own client inquiries end to end, ensuring clear communication, documented accountability, timely escalation and confirmed closure. Understand client operating models, payment flows, service expectations and risk profiles to anticipate needs, reduce friction and enhance the client experience.
  • Payments, accounts and exception management: Resolve domestic and cross-border payment, account, liquidity and servicing matters accurately and promptly, minimizing uncertainty and disruption for clients. Apply knowledge of SWIFT standards, ISO formatting, nostro and vostro accounts, clearing and settlement, payment messaging, cut-off times, value dating, fees, investigations, repairs, returns, recalls and reconciliation.
  • Risk, controls and operational discipline: Execute client, instruction, transaction and operational controls in line with applicable policies, procedures, delegated authorities and control requirements. Recognize and escalate credit risk, financial crime, sanctions, fraud, data, conduct, operational and regulatory concerns through designated channels. Maintain complete and accurate evidence of control execution, decisions, escalations and case outcomes.
  • AI adoption, data and continuous improvement: Use approved AI, data and automation tools to improve inquiry triage, knowledge retrieval, case documentation, trend identification, procedure maintenance and management reporting. Apply professional judgment and human review to AI-assisted outputs, confirming accuracy, completeness, source quality, confidentiality and suitability before use. Identify repeatable servicing activities that can be simplified or automated while preserving appropriate controls and human oversight.
  • Team and global collaboration: Operate effectively within a global service model, supporting regional handoffs, service continuity and clear ownership through resolution. Develop training, knowledge articles, playbooks and launch support materials that improve consistency, readiness and scalability. Maintain procedures and client knowledge, contribute to training and cross-coverage, and support a consistent global service model.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in transaction banking, cash management, payment operations or financial institution client service.
  • Mandatory prior experience supporting correspondent banking business and servicing bank or financial institution clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and cross-border payments, payment investigations and exception management, including relevant payment messages and clearing or settlement concepts.
  • Proven record of service excellence in managing financial institution client inquiries and escalations, including proactive communication, expectation management and end-to-end ownership.
  • Strong risk and control mindset, with experience following procedures, evidencing controls and escalating issues.
  • Demonstrated, practical use of approved AI, automation or advanced digital tools to improve service delivery, analysis or productivity, with evidence of output validation, human oversight, confidentiality discipline and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and remain effective in a fast-paced, evolving and globally coordinated environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience supporting the launch, migration or scale-up of correspondent banking, cross-border payments or transaction banking capability.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT-based payment flows, ISO 20022 concepts, nostro reconciliations, investigations, sanctions touchpoints and payment repair processes.
  • Experience partnering across Product, Coverage, Engineering, Compliance and Operations in a global organization.
  • Experience defining service metrics, performing root-cause analysis and converting insights into process or control improvements.
  • Practical experience evaluating AI output quality, identifying suitable use cases and measuring adoption and benefits.
