We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering mobile technology solutions that support critical business capabilities across the firm. The successful candidate will combine strong technical leadership with people management, delivery execution, and stakeholder engagement. They will work closely with engineering teams, product partners, and business stakeholders to drive the development of secure, scalable, and high-quality mobile applications.
Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support hiring and team growth activities, including interviewing and onboarding new engineers.
- Delivery and Execution
- Own the successful delivery of technology initiatives from planning through production release.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to define priorities, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
- Identify delivery risks and drive mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are executed with high levels of quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Technical Leadership
- Provide technical direction and architectural guidance for mobile platforms and applications.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to define technology strategy and roadmap.
- Promote engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure software development.
- Support modernization efforts and continuous improvement of engineering processes and platforms.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with business, product, risk, compliance, and technology partners.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to senior stakeholders.
- Influence decisions across multiple teams and organizations.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Significant experience in software engineering, including experience leading engineering teams.
- Proven experience managing engineers and supporting career development.
- Strong understanding of Mobile software architecture, system design, and modern engineering practices.
- Experience delivering complex technology initiatives in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance technical depth with business priorities and delivery outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or managing mobile applications on iOS and/or Android.
- Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience leading distributed teams and cross-functional programs.
