We are looking for a lawyer to join the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) legal team, focusing on supporting our Digital Assets business. The Digital Assets business at Goldman Sachs provides our clients a breadth of digital solutions by leveraging existing financial products and expanding offerings with newly-crafted financial cross-divisional products.
The Digital Assets business’s focus includes:
- Transactional digitalization (using blockchain and distributed ledger technology to improve efficiency and enhance functionality)
- Crypto-related products (transacting, either as principal or agent, in traditional financial products with a cryptocurrency nexus or underlier)
- Traditional financial services for digital asset/crypto companies/clients
- Digital currencies
- Strategic investments in digital asset companies
The Digital Assets legal group is a global team that provides legal support to the Goldman Sachs Digital Assets business.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- A general derivatives or finance lawyer across a range of asset classes
- 2-4 years post qualification relevant experience in a comparable institution or in a well-regarded law firm
- Familiarity with regulations that impact derivatives and/or finance businesses
- Ability to explain complex legal concepts in an accessible way
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to prioritise work effectively, be pro-active in a challenging business environment and to respond to client demands in a timely manner
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully with a diverse range of stakeholders including trading and sales personnel, global control functions and legal specialists across the global team.
