We are looking for a Vice President to join the EMEA Real Estate team in London to focus on sourcing and execution of new investments across Europe, with a predominant focus in the UK and Ireland. The role will include direct responsibility for sourcing, underwriting and executing on new investments for our funds, working in close collaboration with the rest of the Real Estate Equity and Debt professionals regionally and globally, as well as the wider firm.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of investment transactions, from sourcing to underwriting, negotiating key transaction documentation (SPA, JVA, AMA, Financing Agreements), due diligence and execution
- Manage a deal team typically consisting of an associate and analyst for each transaction and all external advisors and operating partners.
- Closely collaborate with internal GS asset management teams as well as construction and ESG professionals during and post-acquisition
- Work closely with GS control side teams including legal, compliance, tax and finance
- Present to external and internal stakeholders (Investment Committee, fund LP presentations, etc.)
- Build and develop new and existing operating partner and broker relationships
Skills & Experience We Are Looking For
- Strong track record of sourcing and executing real estate acquisitions across asset classes
- Deep operating partner relationships from previous transaction experience at a top Private Equity firm
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong sense of ownership
- Ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree in Finance, Business, or other applicable field and have an excellent academic and professional record
- 8+ years’ experience required in Real Estate Acquisitions – prior experience in a deal sourcing role in a similar organisation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A self-starter and proactive team player with a strong sense of urgency, responsibility and ability to influence
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities with strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work well under pressure in a team with a positive attitude
- Strong network and experience investing in the UK a plus
