Goldman Sachs is inviting applications for the GBM Public, EMEA Mortgages & CLO Trading role. Our core value is building strong relationships with our institutional clients, including corporations, financial service providers, and fund managers. We help them buy and sell financial products around the world, raise funding, and manage risk. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial team with a passion for the markets and thrives in fast‑paced, changing environments. We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with clients, receive orders, and provide investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis. Ideal candidates are dynamic, quick‑thinking self‑starters with real passion for the markets. The ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds is crucial.

Goldman Sachs is a leading mortgage origination, sales and trading franchise globally, covering all market participants and products. The EMEA Mortgages and CLO desk trades a wide range of products including securitisations backed by residential and commercial mortgages, consumer and SME loans, and leveraged loans (CLOs). As a successful candidate, you will join the EMEA Mortgages and CLO trading desk where the end goal is to trade and be responsible for risk in your own book.

Responsibilities
  • Work within a team of traders to assist with daily tasks, risk management & reporting.
  • Interpret technical and fundamental market factors to determine book positioning.
  • Build internal relationships across Sales, Trading, Research and Syndication.
  • Formulate your own data‑driven macro/credit views and pitch actionable trade ideas to Sales and clients.
  • Collaborate with global Mortgages and Credit Sales teams to understand client needs and behaviours.
  • Build analytical tools/models to assess securitisation collateral, structure and tranche profiles.
  • Develop relationships with clients to facilitate successful trading relationships.
  • Operate within a continuously evolving regulatory environment.
  • Maintain an entrepreneurial work ethic.
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For
  • Strong mathematical/statistical background with experience applying this to financial markets and financial instrument modelling.
  • Interest in macroeconomics and a bottom‑up analytical approach.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work under tight timeframes with internal and external clients.
  • Proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Client‑facing experience and ability to build diverse client relationships.
