Asset & Wealth Management

Goldman Sachs Asset Management is one of the world’s leading asset managers with over $2 trillion in assets under supervision. We provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors, and individuals.

Job Description

The Strategic Transformation Office (STO) oversees comprehensive, large-scale transformations. Our objectives are to enhance scalability, drive revenue growth, improve client experience, and elevate controls to optimize our operating platform. The group comprises three critical functions: (1) Product Management, (2) Design, and (3) Change Management.

Alternatives Product Management sits within the STO. Product managers work closely with our investing businesses and Engineering teams to define our digital strategy, develop new technologies, and partner with third‑party technology providers. We guide products throughout the full lifecycle—including research, ideation, scoping, delivery, and refinement.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Product Manager who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced environment to develop our Deal Manufacturing technology. This role focuses on digitizing and improving core deal lifecycle workflows, including origination, evaluation, underwriting, and execution, in close partnership with Private Markets investing teams.

This is an opportunity to work directly with deal teams to enhance pipeline visibility, standardize processes, and improve how investment decisions are supported through technology.

Alternatives Asset Management is a strategic growth area for the firm, representing a core component of our long‑term vision and commitment to providing innovative investment solutions for clients.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

  • Support and develop product strategy and roadmaps focused on improving Deal Manufacturing workflows across the deal lifecycle
  • Assist in executing the roadmap by defining requirements that improve deal origination, underwriting, and execution workflows
  • Partner closely with investing teams, portfolio management, engineering, and operations to deliver improvements to front‑office deal workflows
  • Identify opportunities to enhance pipeline visibility, standardize deal data capture, and reduce manual processes across the deal lifecycle
  • Monitor competitive practices and analyze end‑user feedback, identifying and developing solutions where needed
  • Engage with third‑party vendors where relevant to support Deal Manufacturing capabilities
  • Leverage analytics and data to inform product decisions
  • Break down complex deal workflow initiatives into deliverable components while managing dependencies
  • Participate in ideation and feasibility assessments focused on improving deal execution, underwriting efficiency, and decision support

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

  • 7–10 years of experience in Financial Services or product management within an agile environment
  • Experience working on transaction, underwriting, or investment workflows within Private Markets, Banking, or related domains
  • Ability to lead product strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and drive alignment across investing, engineering, design, and operations
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑moving front‑office environments and translate business needs into structured product requirements
  • Executive‑level communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills
  • Proven success managing complex, multi‑workstream programs and prioritizing parallel initiatives
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset; comfortable evaluating trade‑offs and making data‑driven decisions
  • Expertise in backlog prioritization and roadmapping, with ability to align delivery to front‑office workflow priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguous problems and articulate a clear progression plan
  • Track record of driving organizational change, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members, and to lead cross‑functional design or ideation activities
  • Proven ability to build and influence relationships across senior business, engineering, and vendor partners
  • Commitment to integrity, accountability, and high‑quality product delivery
  • Familiarity with system design best practices and ability to partner closely with Engineering to uphold technical standards
