Our Risk teams develop comprehensive processes to monitor, assess, and manage the risk of expected and unexpected events that may have an adverse impact on the firm. Risk professionals execute critical day‑to‑day risk management activities, lead projects, and contribute to the ongoing advancement of a robust risk management program.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with executive management, business units, control departments, and technology to ensure effective risk management.
- Lead projects that advance the risk management program.
- Execute day‑to‑day risk management activities and review capital ratio targets, planned capital actions, and regulatory capital calculations.
- Analyze regulatory capital rules (e.g., PRA Basel 3.1, Capital Requirements Regulation) and determine appropriate capital interpretations.
- Perform independent compliance assessments of the Senior Management Function (SMF) annual attestation related to rule interpretation and implementation.
- Review and challenge the notification framework and regulatory notification types within the IRB framework.
- Summarize and challenge the impact of regulatory capital rules on risk appetite.
- Assess the impact of capital regulation on individual transactions, new products, and business proposals.
- Validate regulatory capital requirement approaches and calculations.
- Communicate sophisticated regulatory capital analysis to senior managers, businesses, and regulators.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience at the PRA, European regulator, or a bank with an IRB approach (preferably in a second‑line role).
- Previous managerial experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to excellence.
- Strong organizational and project‑management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Team‑player attitude and ability to maintain mutual support within a high‑profile team.
