OPERATIONS
Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm\’s assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.
YOUR IMPACT
Corporate Treasury Operations (CTO) is a sub division of the Operations Division. As a global, multi-faceted and cross product sub division, the primary objectives are to mitigate payment and liquidity risk through the active monitoring of critical transactions and ownership of the front to back processing across the firm. CTO has a unique role that requires interactions across all our firmwide businesses and engagement with external industry bodies. CTO is currently 300+ staff strong globally, with regional presence in Salt Lake City, Dallas, New York, London, Bangalore, Singapore, Tokyo, and many other offices, all working closely together.
The Payment Rail Governance function ensures the firm is able to meet our global payment regulatory obligations by becoming experts at payment scheme rules and maintaining continued compliance; coordinating cross divisional teams within Assurance processes; and establishing strong governance over the health of Payment Rails.
This role will be responsible for delivering key projects and driving best-in-class standards and within the established Payment Rail Governance team to ensure the firm remains compliant with its regulatory obligations.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Project delivery of Payment Governance related projects and initiatives to meet regulatory obligations
- Partner with cross divisional businesses to drive a best-in-class control environment, continuously identifying areas for efficiency and improvement
- Be accountable to global Payment Governance leadership, highlighting key risks, issues, and mitigation activities in a clear and structured way
- Become an expert in Payment Schemes across GBP and EUR currencies
- Chair governance forums to manage the firm\’s ongoing assurance obligations, ensuring maximum transparency and leadership oversight
- Stay abreast of industry developments and project manage external change programs in line with industry obligations
- Work to demanding timescales in a fast-paced environment
- Use strong planning and communication skills to influence stakeholders and drive successful outcomes for the firm
- Be comfortable working in an environment that does not come with a defined list of tasks, requiring a self-starter mentality
- Adopt a curious mentality and continuously seek ways to do things better that may not always be obvious to see
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree
- 5+ years project management/delivery experience in a Banking or Management Consulting role
- Proven track record of influencing change and driving standards in a global organisation
- Experience of working with senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
- Ability to interact and influence at all levels and across multiple functions within an organization
- Ability to cultivate excellent relationships at all levels within an organization
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at the same time
- Strong sense of detail and urgency, with the ability to motivate others to deliver
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading projects within a payments related function
- Experience working within (or partnering closely with) an Audit, Risk, Compliance or Governance function a significant advantage
- Knowledge of UK and EMEA Payment Scheme regulatory obligations (CHAPS, BACS, FPS, SEPA)
- Knowledge of Payments / Cash Management / Liquidity functions within Treasury organisation
