In this role you will partner with key teams across the business—including Operations, Engineering, Product Owners, Marketing, and Legal & Compliance—to explore diverse approaches to solve end‑user problems. You will work closely with marketing to push our brand to be consumer friendly. We expect you to take ownership of your work; this role is for those who drive their initiatives forward rather than rely on others to push the work through.

- Own your work and champion user research opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Product & Engineering to deliver design solutions.
- Work with our Design System and the wider team to develop it within our Consumer Brand across mobile, web, and native app.
- Influence and improve Design standards across the division, working with US Marcus colleagues and other key personnel.

- Use data and insights to inform design decisions, collaborating with & Analytics teams to identify data‑driven improvements.
- Partner with Marketing to review output from our agencies.
Requirements
- A seasoned Product Design practitioner with extensive experience using best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile‑first and responsive design.
- Experience designing and delivering designs optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Experience working in a regulated environment and balancing operational, regulatory, and efficiency demands while shipping outstanding design features—ideally within retail banking.
- Strong communication skills to clearly discuss design processes, ideas, and solutions with stakeholders, whether through visual storytelling or presentation.
- Experience/understanding of UX writing—preferred, but not essential.
- Proven ability to think critically about design processes and influence how we work with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Engineers.
- Clear understanding of user‑centred design and design thinking.
- Solid grasp of user‑centred design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, usability, and accessibility concerns.
- A passion for resolving user pain points through great design.
- Knowledge of design tooling such as Figma and Adobe Suite.
- Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
