Climate Credit sits at the cross road of the Goldman Sachs Private Credit and Sustainable Investment platforms and is part of the private side of the Asset Management division. Within Climate Credit, we invest across the capital structure (senior debt, junior debt, mezzanine capital, preferred equity) in transactions anchored in 5 key energy transition themes (Clean Energy, Sustainable Transport, Waste & Materials, Sustainable Food & Agriculture and Ecosystems & Services). As a new strategy for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Climate Credit builds on over 25 years of relevant private credit and sustainable investment experience and benefits from broad network effects on deal origination and due diligence within the broader Goldman Sachs franchise.
Associates in Climate Credit work as part of small deal teams responsible for identifying, structuring, executing and monitoring relevant investments. The broad range of transaction structures and sectors in which we invest are giving Associates a broad range of exposure. The work is deal-focused and exciting, and will bring you in contact with a wide range of businesses, industries, clients, investment structures and products in the sustainability and energy transition space.
Responsibilities- Engage in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses.
- Communicate and defend investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including relevant Investment Committees.
- Participate in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments.
- Support research and develop new investment ideas across the relevant 5 energy transition themes.
- Support the origination of investment opportunities across the product suite of Climate Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., borrowers, advisors, sponsors).
- Actively monitor existing investments in the portfolio.
- Involve in internal fund management and preparation of investor communications.
- Investment Banking, Private Credit/Direct Lending and Infrastructure Investment candidate with 2 to 4 years experience.
- Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for investing with specific interest in credit and sustainability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses.
