The Private Equity business within Goldman Sachs Alternatives makes direct equity investments across Americas and Europe in a broad range of industries. Analysts in Private Equity are part of a talented team of investment professionals responsible for the acquisition and management of investments. You will be involved in a wide range of high‑profile transactions, including management buyouts, take‑privates, add‑on acquisitions, build‑ups, restructurings, recapitalizations, and dispositions.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Analysts in Private Equity Investing will be integrally involved with all aspects of the investment cycle: sourcing, identifying and evaluating attractive investment themes and opportunities; building relationships with management teams, senior advisors and external industry experts; performing due diligence; financing, structuring and closing transactions; and developing, monitoring and implementing value‑creation strategies at existing portfolio companies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 1–2 years experience with leading investment banks, consulting firms, corporate, private equity firms and other alternative asset managers
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a track record of excellence in career and academic
- Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High level of integrity, strong work ethic and commitment to the job with genuine enthusiasm to work in private equity; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; resourceful approach to problem‑solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; European language skills are a plus
- Demonstrates versatility in adapting to different industries and geographies
- Ability to self‑direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
- Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
