YOUR IMPACT
The role is a paralegal position in the firm’s legal department focusing on the firm’s separate account businesses across AM and will be located in the AM legal team in London. While the role would suit a candidate who has knowledge and understanding of the role of asset managers and the services they provide to clients, this is not essential. The role includes acting as a member of the AM legal team involved in negotiation of investment management and advisory agreements and related documentation. The role would suit a candidate with experience in contract negotiation.
In addition, and given the wider AM business, it is expected that a key component of the role will also include contributing to the support of other legal issues that arise, particularly in respect of the ongoing development of the firm’s growing international business.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of work experience as paralegal in a financial services institution or a law firm.
- Contract negotiation and project management skills, experience of investment management agreement negotiations preferred.
- Understanding of the business of asset managers, with a particular focus on separate account services to clients based in EMEA.
- A working knowledge of funds and trading would be useful but not essential.
- Knowledge of applicable regulation or interest in learning applicable regulation.
- Team player with a genuine interest in asset management, the ability to be pro-active in a challenging business environment, whilst adhering to firm policies and group practices.
- Personable and confident with ability to interact well directly with the business teams and to take on responsibility for and support key business relationships as well as legal colleagues in other global offices.
