Goldman Sachs Asset Management is a global asset manager with more than $3 trillion in assets under supervision. As an Associate in the Global Trade Receivables – Asset Finance team based in London, you will support deal teams in originating, diligencing, structuring, executing and monitoring working‑capital transactions while gaining exposure to the full spectrum of asset‑finance activities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate asset‑backed finance opportunities across sectors and support transaction execution, underwriting, structuring, diligence, internal investment committee processes, and closing.
- Participate in the origination, negotiation, structuring and documentation of investments, supporting senior members of the investment team.
- Perform due diligence and business analysis on prospective deals.
- Project‑manage transaction operations, coordinating with risk, legal, compliance and operations departments.
- Communicate and defend investment theses to internal stakeholders and investment committees.
- Actively monitor existing portfolio investments.
- Contribute to ensuring reporting excellence for clients.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in structured finance or corporate finance at a bank, rating agency or asset manager.
- Demonstrated experience in private asset‑backed transactions, preferably in working‑capital finance.
- Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and excellent follow‑through.
- Clear, concise communicator with strong investment memo and presentation skills.
- Flexible and creative mindset with the ability to analyse a variety of investment cases and solve structural problems.
- Proactive, self‑directed, analytical with independent judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and collaborate with others.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and fluency in automation tools.
- Fluency in English required; additional language skills are a plus.
