The New Business Group (NBG) is responsible for the strategic onboarding and integration of Prime Brokerage, Futures Clearing, DCS, and GSEC clients across Goldman Sachs' global platform.
As a Vice President within the Prime Services Client team, you will serve as a senior relationship manager and onboarding lead, partnering closely with Sales, Coverage, Product, Legal, Credit, Risk, Operations, Compliance, and Technology teams to deliver complex client onboarding and business expansion initiatives.
Leveraging strong Prime Brokerage industry knowledge and strategic thinking, you will advise clients and internal stakeholders on onboarding solutions, operating models, regulatory requirements, and market access frameworks.
You will be responsible for driving the successful execution of high-profile client mandates while balancing commercial priorities, risk management, and firmwide objectives.
The role requires the ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge existing processes, identify strategic opportunities for improvement, and lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance the client experience and operational efficiency of the onboarding lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client Leadership & Strategic Advisory
- Act as a senior onboarding partner for Prime Brokerage clients, providing strategic guidance throughout the onboarding lifecycle from mandate through go-live.
- Drive alignment among senior stakeholders across Legal, Credit, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Engineering, and Front Office teams.
- Manage competing priorities and escalations while ensuring critical milestones and client commitments are achieved.
- Influence strategic onboarding decisions through effective communication, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement.
- Partner with Sales and Coverage teams to support revenue generation, business expansion opportunities, and client retention initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve scalability, and enhance the client onboarding experience.
- Lead strategic initiatives focused on operating model enhancements, process optimization, controls, capacity management, and automation.
- Utilize data and business metrics to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and support management decision-making.
- Support talent development, resource planning, and organizational priorities across the broader NBG function.
- Ensure onboarding activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, firm policies, and control frameworks.
- Provide governance, oversight, and escalation management for onboarding risks, issues, and dependencies.
- BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Significant experience within Prime Brokerage, Prime Services, Client Onboarding, Capital Markets, or Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of Prime Brokerage products, client structures, onboarding processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and deliver strategic solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple business areas.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance client needs, business objectives, and risk considerations.
