Goldman Sachs Asset Management – Private Credit team seeks an experienced Vice President to lead direct lending activities in Europe. The role involves identifying, diligencing, structuring, executing and monitoring corporate debt investments, collaborating with private equity sponsors and managing a mid‑market to large‑cap portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Originating investment ideas across the Direct Lending product suite via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., financial sponsors / company management teams)
- Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
- Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
- Communicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including Divisional and Firmwide Investment Committees
- Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio
- Building relationships with sponsors, management teams and internal GS stakeholders
Qualifications
- 6 to 7 years of experience in Investment Banking and Private Credit/Direct Lending
- Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to navigate M&A and financing processes, familiarity with financing documentation
- Passion for investing with a specific interest in credit or other structured products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
- Ability to self‑direct, analyze, evaluate and form independent judgments
