Safer Neighbourhood Advisor in Maidstone

Maidstone Full-Time On-site
G

At Golding, we’re more than a housing provider. We’re an ambitious, people-centred organisation with a clear purpose: keeping our customers at the heart of everything we do, creating quality homes and building strong, sustainable communities.

We’re proud of our track record in building high-quality homes and investing in the communities we serve. Following a strong inspection outcome, including G1, C1 and V2 ratings, we’re continuing to build on what we do well while looking ahead to an exciting new chapter.

Our 2026–2030 Corporate Plan sets out our ambitions for the years ahead, including strengthening our culture, investing in our people and making Golding a brilliant place to work.

It’s a great time to join our Neighbourhoods team and make a real difference to the communities we serve.

What you'll be doing

As part of our Safer Neighbourhoods Team, you’ll play an important role in helping to create safer, stronger communities for our customers.

You’ll manage a varied and often complex caseload covering anti-social behaviour (ASB), domestic abuse, tenancy enforcement and safeguarding. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their circumstances, manage risk and find effective solutions, while ensuring they feel supported, listened to and kept informed.

You’ll also work closely with a wide range of partners, including the police, local authorities, social care, health services and voluntary and community organisations. Building strong relationships and taking a joined-up approach will be key to achieving positive outcomes.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two cases will be the same. You’ll need to be confident making decisions in challenging situations, balancing enforcement with a customer-focused and trauma-informed approach, and managing competing priorities effectively.

The role involves

  • Managing complex and high-risk ASB cases from initial report through to resolution.

  • Investigating reports of nuisance, harassment, hate incidents, criminal behaviour and tenancy breaches.

  • Responding to domestic abuse concerns, carrying out appropriate risk assessments and taking action to protect and support victims.

  • Identifying, reporting and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns involving adults and children.

  • Working closely with statutory, voluntary and community partners to coordinate interventions, share information appropriately and manage risk.

  • Using a range of legal and non-legal remedies to resolve cases, including warnings, agreements, injunctions, Community Protection Notices and possession proceedings where appropriate.

  • Preparing accurate and high-quality case records, witness statements and evidence bundles to support enforcement action and legal proceedings.

  • Attending multi-agency meetings, case conferences, MARACs and safeguarding forums where required.

  • Providing excellent customer service, keeping customers informed and managing expectations throughout case investigations.

  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring cases are managed in line with legislation, policy, regulatory requirements and good practice.

  • Contributing to community safety initiatives and partnership projects that improve neighbourhoods and make a positive difference to customers and communities.

More About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident, resilient and able to build positive relationships with customers, colleagues and partner agencies.

You’ll bring experience of managing complex cases, ideally within ASB, tenancy enforcement, domestic abuse, safeguarding, community safety or a similar environment. You’ll be comfortable assessing risk, gathering and evaluating evidence, making sound decisions and taking appropriate action, including when situations are challenging or sensitive.

You’ll be able to:

  • Manage a busy and varied caseload, prioritising effectively and keeping a clear focus on risk and outcomes.

  • Communicate confidently and sensitively with people who may be distressed or vulnerable.

  • Build trust and effective working relationships with customers and a wide range of partners.

  • Use your judgement to balance a supportive, trauma-informed approach with appropriate enforcement action.

  • Gather, assess and present information and evidence clearly and accurately.

  • Remain calm and professional when dealing with conflict, challenging behaviour or high-risk situations.

  • Work collaboratively while also being confident in making decisions and taking ownership of your cases.

  • Keep accurate records and have a good understanding of the importance of legislation, policy, confidentiality and information sharing.

  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for customers and creating safer, stronger communities.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who cares about the difference this work makes. You’ll take ownership of your cases, look for practical solutions and be committed to doing the right thing for our customers and communities.

When and where you'll be doing it

You will enjoy a 37-hour working week and earn an annual salary of circa £40,000.

Our Hub, Home, Roam approach allows you to work from wherever suits you best whilst also having a central workspace to collaborate and come together. Our head office is in central Maidstone and is a new, modern and bright space which inspires creativity and innovation. This role will require a lot of time to be spent out with our residents.

What will you get in return?

Creating an environment which enables our people to thrive is crucial for us and our Total Reward package goes beyond your salary, designed to support you throughout your working life here.

You’ll get:

• 28 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) and end of year office closure

• Flexible benefits including health cash plan, additional holiday purchase, cycle to work scheme, onsite gym, retail discounts and more.
