We are excited to recruit for this role at Golding and appoint an Asbestos Lead to join our Development & Strategic Asset Management team, where you'll be able to play a key role in shaping our future. If you're looking to lead, influence and elevate asbestos compliance, this could be the role for you.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead contractor performance — manage surveyors and licensed removal teams, oversee remedial actions, and keep the asbestos register accurate and up to date.
- Drive compliance excellence — monitor KPIs, run performance reviews, track improvements and maintain robust, auditable records.
- Champion safety culture — run the Asbestos Champions programme and embed best practice across the organisation.
- Own investigations and risk management — lead responses to incidents, assess breaches, and ensure corrective actions are delivered.
- Manage budgets and contracts — oversee valuations, POs, monthly meetings and contractor governance.
- Act as the subject matter expert — provide technical guidance, stay ahead of regulatory changes and support colleagues across planned and reactive works.
- Ensure asset compliance — maintain accurate asset lists and ensure all inspections and servicing meet legislative and British Standards.
- Deliver outstanding customer service — learn from feedback and help shape a high‑performing, positive workplace culture.
Please note a full driving licence and DBS are required for this role.
Experience required:
- Good standard of education including GCSE English and maths or equivalent.
- P405 qualification essential, P402 qualification desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of Landlords statutory repair, maintenance, and H&S responsibilities.
- Demonstrate understanding of Asbestos regulations.
- Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and client/external interface skills.
- A track record of effective working with teams, managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines.
You will enjoy a 37-hour working week and earn an annual salary up to £58866. Our Hub, Home, Roam approach allows you to work from wherever suits you best whilst also having a central workspace to collaborate and come together. Our head office is in central Maidstone and is a new, modern and bright space which inspires creativity and innovation.
