You’re stepping into businesses mid-issue. You’re working with owners who are under pressure. You don’t always get the full picture. And you still need to get it right. That’s exactly why the right people love it. At GoldHR, we work as a true partner to our clients, not just giving advice but helping them navigate real situations with confidence. We’re growing, and we’re now looking for an experienced Senior HR Consultant to join us.
What makes this role different? This isn’t a “sit behind the scenes” HR role.
- Be the go-to HR partner for SME business owners
- Be trusted to represent the business
- Deliver practical, commercially focused HR support that actually works
You’ll have autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to see the real impact of your work. But you’ll also have a supportive, experienced team around you, people to sense-check with, share ideas, and back you up when needed.
The role in a nutshell: You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, supporting them across:
- Employee relations (disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence)
- Policies, contracts and HR documentation
- Restructures, redundancies and TUPE
- HR projects, audits and process improvements
There’s also the opportunity (if it’s your thing) to get involved in training and development work.
What we’re looking for: This role will suit someone who:
- Is already operating at a senior HR level
- Is confident handling complex ER casework independently
- Has experience working with SMEs and business owners
- Is comfortable with ambiguity, pace and variety
- Enjoys building relationships and being front-facing with clients
Ideally, you’ll also:
- Have experience in an HR consultancy environment
- Have some exposure to L&D or training delivery (desirable, not essential)
Practical bits: 15-22.5 hours per week (to be worked flexibly across the week to meet client and business needs). Part-time role with potential to increase to full-time for the right person in the future. Home-based with some travel to clients, normally in Surrey, Hampshire, and London, as and when required. Ideally based in the Surrey/Hampshire area.
What we offer: Genuine flexibility around how and when you work, a supportive, down-to-earth team, autonomy and trust in your role, and the chance to grow with the business and shape what we do.
A final thought: This role isn’t for someone looking to “step up” into consultancy. It’s for someone who’s already confident in their HR judgement, enjoys working directly with clients, and wants a role where they can make a real difference. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
