About Our Client

My client is an SME working within the builder merchant’s industry. Their finance team are looking to hire a bookkeeper on 12-month fixed term contract on a part time basis.

Job Description

  • Manage accounts payable by recording vendor invoices and payments, ensuring timely processing.
  • Raise and track accounts receivable by recording customer invoices and collections.
  • Reconcile bank statements with ledger entries, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Record and reconcile petty cash transactions regularly.
  • Assist with payroll processing by recording payroll-related entries and deductions as needed.
  • Prepare and post accrual entries for expenses incurred but not yet recorded.
  • Maintain accurate financial records by recording, categorizing, and reconciling all financial transactions.
  • Post journal entries and update general ledger accounts to reflect correct balances.
  • Make necessary period-end adjustments for prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other corrections.
  • Compile trial balance by summarizing all ledger account balances and ensure debits equal credits.
  • Review trial balance for accuracy and highlight discrepancies for correction before finalization.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial documents to support audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with accountants and finance managers to provide accurate financial data.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities as required.

This is an excellent role for someone who is seeking a part time bookkeeping opportunity for a period of 12 months.

It uncertain whether the role will go permanent but there is a future option.

Ideally the candidate will work three full days however there are other options to split this time over the 5 days.
