Part-time Company Accountant & Payroll Manager (Maternity Cover, approx. 22 hours per week negotiable) Fixed-term cover 6 months
Job description:
- Payroll
- To manage and oversee payroll processing across multiple companies for approximately 500 employees per month including dealing with statutory payments and resolving any queries.
- Administration of RTI and NEST.
- To provide technical support to Payroll Administrator and provide required solutions.
- To manage payroll year end process including producing P60s and to prepare and submit P11Ds to HMRC.
- To ensure compliance with payroll regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of HMRC requirements and other relevant legislation.
- Accounts and Company Secretarial
- To provide technical support and line manage 4 reports in accounts team and 1 payroll administrator.
- To provide 1 to 1 support as required.
- To provide company secretarial services across multiple companies including company formation, share issue, filing confirmation statements and dormant accounts as required.
- To assist in preparation of monthly management accounts and VAT returns.
- To act as a point of contact for external accountants and auditor.
- To provide cover for other members of the team as necessary.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Ideal Candidate:
- ACCA (or similar) would be desirable.
- Proven experience in an accounts based role with a particular focus on payroll management or senior payroll role.
- Experience with accounting systems such as SAGE, Xero and Brightpay.
- In-depth understanding of accounts and payroll systems, tax laws, and regulations within the UK.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments and with external providers.
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach to handling challenges.
