We are recruiting for an exceptional private estate in the Gloucestershire countryside, home to 22 acres of beautifully maintained formal gardens, an impressive walled garden and elegant Arts & Crafts-inspired landscapes. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and passionate gardener to become part of a prestigious estate environment where horticultural standards, presentation and attention to detail are held in the highest regard.
Working closely with the Head of Gardens and Parkland, you will play an important hands-on role in maintaining and developing these remarkable gardens, helping to preserve the character, beauty and heritage of the estate for years to come. This role would suit someone who takes enormous pride in their work and genuinely enjoys being part of a professional private estate setting. Due to the rural location of the estate, you will need to be a driver.

- An experienced gardener with a background in formal gardens, private estates, country houses or historic landscapes
- Someone who genuinely cares about horticultural excellence, presentation and detail
- Confident taking a hands-on approach across all aspects of estate gardening
- Comfortable supporting and guiding a small team when required
- Professional, reliable and able to work with care and discretion within a private environment
- Passionate about maintaining exceptionally high standards throughout the seasons

What You’ll Be Doing…
- Supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of 22 acres of formal gardens and grounds
- Caring for formal lawns, structured borders, shrubs, trees and seasonal planting displays to an exceptional standard
- Assisting with wider estate gardening projects and long-term garden development plans
- Supporting the upkeep of the walled garden and surrounding landscaped areas
- Supervising contractors and helping ensure aesthetic standards are consistently maintained
- Assisting with the maintenance and care of garden machinery and equipment
- Supporting additional gardening and estate duties where required throughout the year
