We’re proud to be working with a highly regarded, privately owned 1 Rosette Modern British restaurant in a beautiful Essex town. With around 700 covers per week and a strong local following, this is a kitchen that thrives on quality, consistency and creativity. They’re now looking for a talented Pastry Sous Chef to take ownership of the pastry section and help drive standards even further as the business continues to grow.

You’ll be wondering what’s in it for you as the Pastry Sous Chef:

  • £37,000 per annum plus £5,000 service charge
  • 48-hour contract
  • Closed Mondays and Tuesdays – enjoy two set days off each week
  • Working within a close-knit team of 6 chefs

Responsibilities as the Pastry Sous Chef:

  • Leading the pastry section during busy services, contributing to 700 covers per week
  • Designing and delivering high-quality, fresh desserts that complement a seasonal menu
  • Supporting the Head Chef with menu development and innovation
  • Maintaining consistency, presentation and Rosette-level standards
  • Assisting with ordering, stock control and maintaining a clean, organised section

This role would suit a confident Pastry Sous Chef who has worked in a busy fresh food environment and enjoys the pace and buzz of high-volume service without compromising on quality.
