Applications are invited for a locum Consultant Cardiologist specialising in Electrophysiology (EP). The post-holder will be a fully trained and independent consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist competent in invasive EP procedures. The post is based at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital in Clydebank for an initial fixed period of 35 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform invasive EP procedures including basic electrophysiological studies, SVT ablation in all forms, and AF ablation using cryoablation.
  • Map and ablate complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias (desirable).
  • Support the expansion of current electrophysiology sessions to manage waiting lists and reduce waiting times for EP procedures.
  • Participate in the Electrophysiology & Complex Device service’s comprehensive arrhythmia service, including lead extraction and management of quaternary referrals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fully independent professional with the NHS designation of consultant cardiologist.
  • Competent in invasive EP procedures and cryoablation for AF.
  • Experience in mapping and ablation of complex arrhythmias is desirable.
