About the Role
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially minded Junior Financial Analyst to join a high-performing finance team within a fast-paced Investment Banking and FP&A environment based in the heart of Canary Wharf, London. You will work closely with senior analysts, investment managers, finance directors, and strategic decision-makers who rely heavily on accurate financial insight to drive major business decisions. The successful candidate will support both the Investment Banking function and the FP&A division, gaining direct exposure to budgeting, forecasting, investment reporting, profitability analysis, commercial strategy, and financial modelling.
Your work will contribute to high-level decision-making across transactions, portfolio performance, operational efficiency, and future business planning. You will be involved in preparing management reports, analysing market and financial trends, assessing investment opportunities, and supporting strategic growth initiatives across multiple business units.
This role provides valuable insight into how finance supports mergers, acquisitions, investment decisions, and overall business expansion. Candidates with a strong interest in corporate finance, investment performance, forecasting, and strategic planning will thrive in this environment.
Exposure to regulated financial environments, AML awareness, compliance controls, and FCA/PRA understanding will be considered highly advantageous due to the nature of the business and stakeholder responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across multiple departments
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A reports for senior leadership
- Build and maintain financial models to support investment decisions and strategic planning
- Analyse financial performance, profitability, and operational efficiency across the business
- Support investment banking activities including deal analysis, valuations, and transaction support
- Prepare variance analysis and commentary for board-level reporting
- Monitor market trends, sector performance, and commercial opportunities
- Assist senior analysts with investment appraisals and portfolio performance reviews
- Work closely with leadership teams across UK offices to support strategic decision-making
- Maintain strong financial controls, reporting accuracy, and compliance standards
- Support regulatory reporting where required, including financial governance and control processes
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within reporting and financial systems
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent numerical and problem-solving ability
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, forecasting, and business performance analysis
- Excellent communication skills with confidence, presenting financial information clearly
- Commercial awareness and genuine interest in investment banking and financial strategy
- Knowledge of AML, compliance, FCA, or PRA regulations is a strong advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Career-driven, ambitious, and motivated by progression opportunities
- Previous internship, placement year, or finance-related experience is advantageous but not essential
