Golden Fox Recruitment are partnered with a trend-led womenswear and swimwear brand based in Birmingham. The business produces bold, commercial collections in a fast fashion environment and works at pace without losing focus on fit and quality.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly design and development team where collaboration comes naturally and decisions are made quickly. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, plenty of variety and the chance to be close to product from development through to production.
This is a practical Garment Technologist position with responsibility for fit, quality and technical standards across busy womenswear ranges. Working closely with the design team, you’ll support styles from first concept through to bulk, ensuring garments are well fitting, commercially sound and production ready.
You’ll lead fit sessions, guide technical decisions and help keep product moving smoothly through critical path, balancing quality, cost and timelines.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own garment fit and technical development from first sample through to bulk sign-off
- Lead online fit sessions and make clear, confident fit and construction decisions
- Work closely with designers to turn creative ideas into wearable garments
- Advise on fabric selection, garment construction and practical, cost-conscious solutions
- Write clear, useful fit, construction and sample comments for suppliers
- Manage multiple development samples through a fast-moving critical path
- Build and maintain size charts, blocks and best-fit libraries
- Monitor garment testing, compliance and risk assessments
- Use feedback from production, testing and returns to improve future styles
- Build positive, effective relationships with suppliers
About you:
You’re an experienced Garment Technologist, Garment Technician or Clothing Technologist who enjoys working at pace and taking ownership. You’re confident with fit, comfortable making decisions and enjoy working closely with others in a small team.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in fast fashion or high-volume womenswear
- Strong knowledge of garment fit, construction and grading
- Confidence managing development from first sample through to bulk
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to manage multiple styles without losing attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative way of working
