Garment Technologist (Fast Fashion Womenswear) – Birmingham, Hybrid working (within one hour commute). Salary: £33,000-£37,000 + Benefits.
Golden Fox Recruitment are partnered with a trend-led womenswear and swimwear brand based in Birmingham. The business produces bold, commercial collections in a fast-paced fast fashion environment. You will join a small, friendly design and development team where collaboration is key, decisions are made quickly and you are trusted to own your area. You will be close to the product, involved in the detail and able to see the impact of your work day-to-day.
Responsibilities- Owning garment fit and technical development from first sample through to bulk sign-off
- Leading online fit sessions and making clear, confident fit and construction decisions
- Working closely with designers to turn creative ideas into wearable, well-fitting garments
- Advising on fabric selection, garment construction and practical, cost-conscious solutions
- Writing clear and useful fit, construction and sample comments for suppliers
- Managing multiple development samples through a busy, fast-moving critical path
- Building and maintaining size charts, blocks and best-fit libraries
- Monitoring garment testing, compliance and risk assessments
- Using feedback from production, testing and returns to improve future styles
- Building positive, effective working relationships with suppliers
You are an experienced Garment Technologist, Garment Technician or Clothing Technologist who enjoys working at pace and taking ownership. You are confident with fit, comfortable making decisions and enjoy working closely with others in a small team.
What we are looking for- Experience in fast fashion or high-volume womenswear
- Strong knowledge of garment fit, construction and grading
- Confidence managing development from first sample through to bulk
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to manage multiple styles without losing attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative way of working
