They’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Assistant Asbestos Surveyor (2nd Man) to support surveyors on a large residential contract. This role would suit someone currently working as a self-employed driver, labourer or in construction who’s looking for steady work, a change of direction or the chance to learn a skilled trade.
The role will start as a 3-month contract, with a strong chance of becoming permanent and progressing into a fully qualified Asbestos Surveyor role if it’s something you enjoy.
As an Assistant Asbestos Surveyor, you will be:
- Working alongside experienced Asbestos Surveyors on site
- Helping with access and safety, including ladders, equipment and site preparation
- Travelling to residential sites across the South Coast
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Learning how asbestos surveys are carried out, with full support and training
This could be a good fit if you:
- Have a full clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Have hands-on experience (construction, labouring, site work or driving)
- Are reliable, practical and safety-conscious
- Are happy travelling and working as part of a small team
- Want to learn a new skill and move into a long-term career
- CSCS and Asbestos Awareness training are useful but not essential, as these can be arranged.
What’s on offer:
- £24,000 – £25,000 starting salary
- 3-month contract with the option to go permanent
- Full training towards BOHS P402 qualification
- Ongoing mentoring from experienced surveyors
- The chance to build a stable, long-term career in asbestos surveying
- Work with a respected consultancy with consistent contracts and workload
If you’re currently self-employed, working on site or driving and want something more stable with proper training and progression, this could be a great opportunity.
