Garment Technologist in Birmingham

You’ll be close to the product, involved in the detail and able to see the impact of your work day-to-day.\\n\\nThe role\\nThis is a varied, hands-on Garment Technologist role, responsible for fit, quality and technical standards across busy womenswear ranges. Working closely with the design team, you’ll support garments from first concept through to bulk production, ensuring they fit well, are commercially sound and ready for production.\\n\\nYou’ll lead fit sessions, guide technical decisions and help keep product moving smoothly through critical path, balancing quality, cost and timelines.\\n\\nAs Garment Technologist, you’ll be:\\n\\n * Owning garment fit and technical development from first sample through to bulk sign-off\\n\\n * Leading online fit sessions and making clear, confident fit and construction decisions\\n\\n * Working closely with designers to turn creative ideas into wearable, well-fitting garments\\n\\n * Advising on fabric selection, garment construction and practical, cost-conscious solutions\\n\\n * Writing clear and useful fit, construction and sample comments for suppliers\\n\\n * Managing multiple development samples through a busy, fast-moving critical path\\n\\n * Building and maintaining size charts, blocks and best-fit libraries\\n\\n * Monitoring garment testing, compliance and risk assessments\\n\\n * Using feedback from production, testing and returns to improve future styles\\n\\n * Building positive, effective working relationships with suppliers\\n\\nAbout you\\nYou’re an experienced Garment Technologist, Garment Technician or Clothing Technologist who enjoys working at pace and taking ownership. You’re confident with fit, comfortable making decisions and enjoy working closely with others in a small team.\\n\\nWhat are we looking for:\\n\\n * Experience in fast fashion or high-volume womenswear\\n\\n * Strong knowledge of garment fit, construction and grading\\n\\n * Confidence managing development from first sample through to bulk\\n\\n * A practical, solutions-focused approach\\n\\n * The ability to manage multiple styles without losing attention to detail\\n\\n * Clear communication skills and a collaborative way of working\\n\\nIf you’re a Garment Technologist in the Midlands who enjoys being involved day to day and wants to work closely with product in a fast fashion womenswear environment, this could be a great fit!\\n\\nInterested?
