The Opportunity: As a VP of Direct Equity Investments, you will be responsible for owning the full life cycle of private equity direct and co-investments – from originating and evaluating investment opportunities through monitoring and exiting investments. As an integral part of the Direct Equity group, you will lead on deal teams to drive the investment process.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Support senior team members in originating new investment opportunities.
  • Source and evaluate prospective investments by assessing key risks/merits and developing cogent investment theses.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and lead diligence calls with GP sponsors and portfolio companies.
  • Perform rigorous financial analyses to support investment decisions, including valuation, structure, returns.
  • Prepare Investment Committee memoranda and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Assist deal team members with underwriting, negotiating and closing investments.
  • Contribute to the ongoing management of investments to enhance value across the portfolio.
  • Contribute to pursuing creative and optimal exit strategies to maximize returns.
  • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and current trends across private equity and other private markets.
  • Develop and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders (GPs, LPs, intermediaries, advisors).
  • Represent the firm in the market by networking and speaking at industry conferences and other events.
  • Mentor and develop associates and analysts within the team and London office.

Your background will include:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience (co-investment, secondaries, buyout, M&A).
  • Experience leading a deal.
  • Solid foundation of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
