Urban Initiatives is an internationally recognised urban design and planning consultancy based in London. We work across the full urban spectrum: from strategic thinking at wider city, town and district level to development of specific urban design solutions at neighbourhood, block, street and building scales. Our work extends across major cities and towns in the UK, Ireland, Europe and beyond.The RoleWe are looking to appoint Senior Project Managers to help us deliver an expanding workload of high profile and exciting projects in the Middle East, Africa and further afield. These positions are full time, based in Central London, and suitable for talented, enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in urban design and masterplanning in a relevant practice environment.Applicants should have experience of project managing large scale masterplanning projects, and in client facing interaction, presentation and report writing.The role will involve working as a project manager in close collaboration with Urban Initiatives’ leadership team on a range of masterplanning projects primarily in the Middle East and Africa. The role will include overseas travel.You are:In order to be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate:Experience of project managing large scale masterplanning commissions in the Middle East and/or Africa;A creative approach to urban design and masterplanning;Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail;A professional approach to client management;Fluent written and spoken English;Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines;Initiative, motivation and be a team player.The successful candidate must share our passion for urban places and our Practice Ethos. Excellent command of written and spoken English. They will also need excellent people managing skills together with experience of managing project initiation, sub-consultants, budgets and project programme and coordination. Good graphic skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign) and proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD/Civil3D, Sketch-up and ArcGIS are also important.Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.Selected candidates who satisfy the job requirements will be invited for an interview.
