My client is a National charity based in South East London looking for an Interim Deputy Head of Finance for a 12 month FTC. The role is full-time, hybrid, with 2-3 days a week in the office. The role will be reporting to the Head of Finance.
The Deputy Head of Finance will lead on payroll delivery, support the production of management accounts, maintain cash flow, and line manage the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a candidate with a strong financial background and excellent team leadership skills.
My client is looking for a proactive detail-oriented finance professional to:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll queries and liaise with external payroll providers.
- Identify and implement improvements to payroll systems and internal controls.
- Produce first-draft monthly management accounts with full balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
- Maintain and update forward-looking cash flow forecasts.
- Support the preparation of year-end management and statutory accounts.
- Work closely with the Head of Finance to provide timely and accurate financial reporting to Budget Holders.
- Manage, support, and develop the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant through supervision and appraisal.
- Contribute to delivering a 5-star service across the organisation.
