Alfa is seeking to appoint a Head of Tax, a senior member of the group's Finance team, replacing the retiring incumbent at the end of 2025. The role reports directly to the group's CFO and oversees all tax-related matters, including strategy, planning, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate Tax Advisory: Manage international tax strategy and transfer pricing, ensuring compliance and documentation. Advise on tax implications of client contracts and business expansion into new markets.
- Indirect Taxes: Oversee VAT, US sales tax compliance, and advise on indirect tax implications.
- Employer/Employee Tax Issues: Serve as a key consultant on employment tax matters.
- Compliance: Oversee tax compliance across all taxes, liaising with external advisors and authorities.
- Reporting: Manage tax disclosures for group and local accounts, contribute to budgeting, and liaise with auditors.
- Systems & Risk Management: Maintain tax governance, document processes, and manage tax risks.
- Tax Function Profile: Promote the value of tax across stakeholders and ensure compliance with information security policies.
- Payroll (potentially reporting elsewhere): Manage payroll processes, software review, and integration with Workday.
- Team: Supervise the EMEA Payroll Manager and collaborate with the finance team and external advisors.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 10 years post-qualification tax experience, practice and industry.
- Strong understanding of UK and international direct tax issues.
- Experience with US subsidiaries, state tax, and sales tax.
- Knowledge of indirect taxes and employment tax issues.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing external advisors.
Desirable (not critical):
- Experience in professional services, tech sector, or publicly listed companies.
- Exposure to Treasury operations.
