The Head of Cost Accounting & Payables will lead the Cost Accounting team and oversee the delivery of the accounts payable activities offshored to Investec Ltd in South Africa. The Cost Accounting team are located across London, Mumbai and South Africa, and are collectively responsible for the budgeting, reporting and accounting activities for Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance, HR, Marketing and all other business enablement functions. The Accounts Payable team are based in South Africa and fulfil our obligations to vendors/suppliers through timely onboarding, invoice processing and arranging settlements, in compliance with internal policies. In addition, the team also facilitates the reimbursement of staff expenses and manages the corporate credit card scheme. This role reports to the Head of Planning, Analysis and Strategy.
What will you be doing?
- Developing a team of 17 in partnership with local leaders, inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment to drive the business forward
- Building an inclusive environment, setting clear objectives, and ensuring the UK growth strategy is understood and people feel connected to it
- Ensuring accuracy and integrity of all cost accounting in line with relevant accounting standards and tax laws
- Overseeing the cost allocation methodology and associated processes
- Delivering regular reporting, strategic reviews and creating financial narratives on costs
- Influencing Executive Committee members for all business enablement areas through strategic level finance support as required
- Operating as a financial partner to proactively identify opportunities to drive efficiencies to optimise costs
- Playing a key role in transforming existing processes, partnering with Technology to deliver scalable, flexible and resilient solutions, including modern technologies such as Power platforms and AI
- Understanding market dynamics and industry trends affecting business support areas.
