The Competitive & Strategic Intelligence (CSI) team at IPSEN supports our global portfolio and growth ambitions. Our goal is to enhance understanding of the competitive landscape and turn competitive intelligence (CI) into actionable insights, enabling faster, better decisions. The individual in this role will lead CI initiatives across specific therapeutic areas, serve as a strategic partner to Asset teams and leadership, and support corporate/enterprise CI initiatives aligned with the Global Head of CSI.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze market and competition.
  • Developing strategic insights.
  • Managing external CI vendors.
  • Leveraging AI tools for research and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing CSI operating plans for key therapeutic areas, identifying threats, and prioritising CI efforts based on strategic needs.
  • Conducting secondary research to monitor competitive threats and emerging competitors, providing timely insights to leadership.
  • Maintaining and updating competitive landscapes, timelines, and catalyst trackers.
  • Managing external CI firms for primary and secondary research.
  • Creating strategic analyses such as threat assessments, Porter’s Five Forces, and scenario planning.
  • Supporting conference intelligence activities and synthesising insights for teams and leadership.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external CI partners.
  • Utilising AI tools to optimise CI research and reporting processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 7+ years in biopharma, healthcare, or related fields with a strong understanding of drug development and commercialisation.
  • Proven experience leading CI initiatives and influencing business decisions.
  • Prior CI experience in Oncology, Neuroscience, or Rare Diseases is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Educational requirements: PhD, PharmD, MD/MBBS, DMD/DDS, MS, or MBA.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Position is full-time, with a focus on business development and sales within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
