Healthshare is a clinically led, independent provider of innovative NHS services working across the country. The successful candidate will be an HCPC registered podiatrist with a B.Sc. Podiatric Medicine degree. Post graduate experience would be an advantage, but graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Our podiatrists are expected to maintain their own electronic patient records (EMIS), deliver a high standard of patient-centred clinical care, possess a friendly and approachable attitude and apply outstanding team-working, communication and organisational skills to their daily practice.

Main duties of the job- To work as part of the podiatry team providing podiatry assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to an independent caseload.
- To build upon postgraduate clinical skills, knowledge and experience.
- To work under the guidance of senior members of staff to continue professional development and professional training programmes.
- Clinical: To assess, diagnose, plan and implement treatment programmes for an individual caseload.
- To participate in the discharge planning process.
- To demonstrate highly developed physical skills inclusive of dexterity, co-ordination and sensory skills to carry out podiatry assessment and interventions.
- To work as an autonomous practitioner to be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own clinical and non-clinical activity associated with individual patient care.
- To plan and organise activity with appropriate time scheduling in order to complete all clinical and administrative duties including statistical record keeping.
- To be responsible for clinical record keeping in accordance with the Society of Podiatrists guidelines for documentation and legal requirements.
- To contribute towards the provision of flexible and timely services.
- To attend mandatory training and to adhere to all Healthshare policies and procedures as they pertain to personnel, health & safety and child, elder protection issues and continuing health care needs.
- To communicate with clients and their carers information regarding diagnosis, treatment plans and expected goals.
- To communicate complex and sensitive information in an understandable format to patients and carers.
- To maintain safe clinical practice in diagnosis and treatment and report any incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with the Healthshare Incident Policy.
- To ensure own safety and the safety of all others within the working environment and comply with all Healthshare policies and procedures to protect the health, safety and welfare of anyone affected by the Healthshares business.
As a term of your employment within Healthshare, you can be required to undertake such other duties commensurate with your grade / band and / or hours of work at your initial place of work or at any other of the organisations establishments, as may be reasonably required of you.
Person Specification- Qualifications: B.Sc. in Podiatry or equivalent, HCPC Registered, CPD relevant to podiatry.
- Experience: Experience in core competencies within podiatry, including neurological and vascular testing at an undergraduate level.
- Knowledge: Up to date knowledge of professional practice, an understanding of legal responsibilities within the profession.
