What you can expect:

  • Act as the main technical interface between the EPC, ICP subcontractors and network operators such as National Grid.
  • Ensure that grid connection activities are delivered safely, compliantly and on time.
  • Close collaboration with construction, planning and project management teams.
  • Manage grid connection communication, approvals and meetings.
  • Define and control the technical scope (contestable / non-contestable works).
  • Manage ICP contracts and subcontractor performance.
  • Review and approve HV/LV designs and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ENA, G99/G100, DNO/IDNO and client standards.
  • Coordinate design reviews and technical approvals.
  • Support G99 submissions, testing and commissioning.
  • Technically oversee construction, commissioning and energisation.
  • Manage technical risks, changes and pre-energisation close‑out.
  • Support project managers with grid‑related planning and milestones.
  • Identify cost optimisation and value engineering opportunities.
  • Work closely with planning, design and commercial teams.

Profile:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
  • Strong experience in grid connections (3–5 years minimum, more is a plus).
  • Background with ICPs, DNOs, IDNOs, network operators or Solar EPCs.
  • Very good written and spoken English.
  • Confident and assertive when managing contractors.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Full driving licence is a plus.
