What you can expect:
- Act as the main technical interface between the EPC, ICP subcontractors and network operators such as National Grid.
- Ensure that grid connection activities are delivered safely, compliantly and on time.
- Close collaboration with construction, planning and project management teams.
- Manage grid connection communication, approvals and meetings.
- Define and control the technical scope (contestable / non-contestable works).
- Manage ICP contracts and subcontractor performance.
- Review and approve HV/LV designs and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ENA, G99/G100, DNO/IDNO and client standards.
- Coordinate design reviews and technical approvals.
- Support G99 submissions, testing and commissioning.
- Technically oversee construction, commissioning and energisation.
- Manage technical risks, changes and pre-energisation close‑out.
- Support project managers with grid‑related planning and milestones.
- Identify cost optimisation and value engineering opportunities.
- Work closely with planning, design and commercial teams.
Profile:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
- Strong experience in grid connections (3–5 years minimum, more is a plus).
- Background with ICPs, DNOs, IDNOs, network operators or Solar EPCs.
- Very good written and spoken English.
- Confident and assertive when managing contractors.
- Able to work independently and take ownership.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel across the UK.
- Full driving licence is a plus.
