Rate: £50.00 per hour - Inside IR35

Our client, an established defence manufacturer, require an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team in Bristol. UK citizenship is mandatory to be able to clear the background checks and obtain SC clearance. Current valid SC clearance would be an advantage.

What the role of the Mechanical Design Engineer entails:

  • Carry out Mechanical Design and proving activities as part of a wider team for prime and variant products, of both piece parts and assemblies.
  • Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems & defects.
  • Support to functional & environmental testing and trials.
  • Liaise with suppliers/purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise.
  • Planning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet project milestones.
  • Gain clarification of and help to generate requirements, including challenging of extraneous requirements to reduce lead time, UPC and design complexity.
