Due to the growth of the Gold Standard Foundation, our Digital Systems team is looking to bring on board a Data Specialist who will be responsible for managing data systems from design to implementation.
This is an exciting role for an experienced Data Specialist who is looking for an organisation that will allow them to work with autonomy and allow them to introduce their favourite ways of working to the organisation, whilst working with cutting edge technology to aid in the continuous evolution of the Gold Standard Foundation and its systems

Gold Standard is a standards body and thought leader that promotes the best that can be achieved in climate and development projects. It was established in 2003 by WWF and other international NGOs as a best practice standard to ensure projects that reduced carbon emissions under the UN’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) also delivered sustainable development benefits. Today, our standard, ‘Gold Standard for the Global Goals’, allows climate and development initiatives within carbon markets, corporate supply chains, and sustainable finance to manage, measure and maximise their impacts toward the Net Zero ambition of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Developing a centralised data platform that integrates data from various business applications, operational systems, and custom sources, creating a cohesive and accessible data repository. The platform will build on the existing ecosystem of applications and data repositories.
- Enabling efficient data processing, analytics, and reporting by leveraging advanced data integration techniques and tools.
- Facilitating data-driven decision-making across the organisation by providing comprehensive insights into various aspects of the organisation\’s operations and projects, building data reporting tools, and responding to internal and external data requests.
- Proactively identifying and addressing data quality issues to ensure that the data used for analysis and reporting is accurate, consistent, and reliable.
- Developing and implementing data management strategies that promote data sharing and collaboration across different departments and teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Extensive experience in managing the full lifecycle from design to implementation of data systems
- A degree or equivalent in information systems, computer science, data management, data engineering or a related field preferred, or on the job experience
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft DP-203, DP-300, DP-600.
Technical skills required for the role of Data Specialist:
- SQL and noSQL data and database management.
- Spark/PySpark, PowerBI with M & DAX, R.
- MS Fabric, Databricks, Data factory, Warehouses and Lakehouses, Data pipeline.
- Familiarity with Power Platform is a plus.
- Familiarity with dMRV (digital measurement, reporting and verification) standards and tools is a plus.
