We are currently recruiting for two experienced Project Engineers to support a major long-term project closure programme. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong Quality Assurance and project engineering experience to join a well-established team working on the safe and compliant close-out of a complex engineering project.
The successful Nuclear Project Engineer will support the final project closure and handover activities for a large-scale engineering programme that has been running for over 10 years. Working closely with the Project Manager and Quality Assurance team, the role will focus heavily on documentation control, compliance, reporting, and ensuring all project records are complete and accurate ahead of final handover to operations. This is a detail-oriented, administration-heavy engineering role suited to candidates with strong QA and project delivery experience within regulated or industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project closure and operational handover activities
- Ensure all engineering and quality documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant
- Review commissioning reports, compliance schedules, and project records
- Update Health & Safety documentation and reports
- Coordinate project documentation and configuration control activities
- Support production of project execution plans and engineering documentation
- Assist with design, commissioning, and decommissioning activities
- Review contractor method statements, risk assessments, and work instructions
- Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with engineering standards and design intent
- Support project delivery across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Liaise with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct quality checks and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in root cause analysis and lessons learned activities
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous Quality Assurance experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience working in a disciplined engineering environment such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or C&I
- Background in industrial plant, energy, utilities, nuclear, or heavy engineering projects
- Experience supporting engineering project delivery
- Understanding of engineering standards and compliance processes
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and safe systems of work
- Experience with contract management and project coordination
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and engineering documentation processes
