Location: Ampthill, Bedfordshire - 4 day week, Mon-Thurs on-site

Role Type: Permanent

Salary: £32,000 - £34,500 per annum depending on experience

Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, require an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join their multi-disciplined team.

Candidates would need to have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for BPSS and SC security clearance.

What the role of the Electrical Assembly Technician entails:

  • We require a competent technician, capable of cable and harness manufacturing working from drawings and engineering instruction.
  • Competent and safe use of all hand tools.
  • Use of jigs, fixtures and measuring tools.
  • Problem solver with a positive attitude.
  • Working with support from the engineering group a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware.

What experience you need to be the successful Electrical Assembly Technician:

  • Cable and harness manufacturing to specifications using work instructions and engineering drawings working in a medium volume production environment.
  • Understanding of ESD controls.
  • Experience in the use of crimp tools and ability to hand solder to high accuracy.
  • Competent with using IT/software packages.
  • Cleanliness and housekeeping (5S) methodology.
  • A high level of health and safety awareness.
  • Certified IPC 620 or experience working with or understanding of IPC/J-Standards.
