Our client, an established defence & security firm, require an experienced Software Integration Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team in Christchurch. This long-term appointment is a complement to the existing 45 strong team that provides support to a fully integrated command and control system for the MoD.
What the role of the Software Integration Engineer entails:
- Building and configuring Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 operating systems
- Integration and configuration of COTS and bespoke software
- Adherence to software engineering practices
- Fault finding and resolution of issues in a production environment to a successful conclusion
- Producing clear and concise technical documentation
- Collaboration with other members of the team: sharing knowledge and peer reviewing others work
- Reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership
- Occasional travel to customer sites to support deployment, investigations and testing
What experience you need to be the successful Software Integration Engineer:
- You'll be able to use PowerShell and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit to install and configure COTS and bespoke software on Windows 10 and Server 2019
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and MDT alternate deployment approaches for deploying Windows 11 and Server 2022 (desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of Group Policy and Active Directory
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation
Candidates would need to have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for SC security clearance.
