Senior Human Factors Consultant

Salary range: 60,000 to 70,000 per annum + Bonus + Benefits + Flexible working.

Location: Bristol, Gloucester, Leatherhead, Manchester OR Glasgow

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern that can be tailored to fit your preferences.

Note: Due to the nature of the work undertaken, UK Citizenship is required for this position.

To support our Human Factors Integration (HFI) work, we are recruiting a Senior Human Factors Consultant to join our growing team. The team is multidisciplinary, including Human Factors Engineers, Consultants, and Behavioral Scientists, with experience across sectors such as Nuclear, Defence, Energy, Aerospace, Government, and Rail. They work on innovative and impactful projects with a diverse client base.

We seek an experienced Senior Human Factors Consultant with strong technical knowledge in Human Factors and the ability to develop strategies for complex projects from technical and commercial perspectives. Responsibilities include technical coordination, management, and mentoring within projects.

The role involves planning, delivering, and overseeing Human Factors work across various market sectors, with opportunities for research into Human Factors topics for clients. Experience in reviewing peers\’ work and providing technical guidance is essential. A deep understanding of Human Factors in multidisciplinary projects and knowledge of Systems Engineering are highly desirable.

Qualifications include an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Human Factors or relevant experience.

Essential Skills

  • Developing and implementing Human Factors strategies for complex projects in safety-critical industries.
  • Deep knowledge of Human Factors and experience with HFI activities such as analysis, planning, ergonomic analysis, error and reliability assessments, workload assessments.
  • Managing projects from technical and commercial perspectives, providing direction, and monitoring performance.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Authoring and reviewing complex technical deliverables.
  • Supporting business development, including estimates, proposals, and budgets.
  • Experience with formal Human Factors analyses in engineering programs.
  • Building positive client relationships.
  • Contributing to the vision and strategy of the human factors team.
