A leading UK main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of a £48m new build accommodation project in Poole, Dorset. Construction is due to commence later this year and will run for approximately two years. As the Lead QS on the project, you'll take full commercial responsibility from pre-construction through to final account, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the wider project team to ensure successful delivery of the programme.
On completion of the project, you'll move onto a £100m+ new build development in the centre of Bournemouth, providing long-term continuity on major schemes within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all commercial activities from pre-construction through to project completion.
- Develop and manage project cost plans, budgets and forecasts.
- Oversee procurement, subcontract management and contract administration.
- Manage commercial reporting, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with the client, consultants and supply chain.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working for a UK main contractor.
- Proven track record delivering new build or complex cut and carve projects valued above £25m.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Experience leading the commercial delivery of major construction projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Salary & Benefits
- £80,000 - £90,000 basic salary.
