Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, require an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join their multi-disciplined team.
Candidates would need to have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for BPSS and SC security clearance.
What the role of the Electrical Assembly Technician entails:
- We require a competent technician, capable of cable and harness manufacturing working from drawings and engineering instruction.
- Competent and safe use of all hand tools.
- Use of jigs, fixtures and measuring tools.
- Problem solver with a positive attitude.
- Working with support from the engineering group a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware.
What experience you need to be the successful Electrical Assembly Technician:
- Cable and harness manufacturing to specifications using work instructions and engineering drawings working in a medium volume production environment.
- Understanding of ESD controls.
- Experience in the use of crimp tools and ability to hand solder to high accuracy.
- Competent with using IT/software packages.
- Cleanliness and housekeeping (5S) methodology.
- A high level of health and safety awareness.
- Certified IPC 620 or experience working with or understanding of IPC/J-Standards.
