Overview
In this leadership role you will drive origination and new business development for the Speciality Finance team, building a strong pipeline with non-bank specialist lenders. You will oversee credit quality for an allocated asset-based lending portfolio and guide deal execution from term sheet to drawdown. You’ll cultivate intermediary networks and shape a targeted origination strategy to win mandates. This is a high-impact role in a London-based, established bank with significant growth potential.

Responsibilities
- Source and convert new lending opportunities with non-bank specialist lenders across bridging, development finance, and other speciality finance verticals
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and structure; own end-to-end execution from term sheet to documentation and drawdown
- Build and maintain relationships with intermediaries, brokers, sponsors, and counterparties; represent the Bank at senior levels
- Develop and execute a targeted origination strategy; monitor competitor activity and position the Bank to win mandates
- Identify upsizes, additional tranches, and new product lines within the existing portfolio; coordinate with Credit and Legal for execution
- Lead Credit Committee presentations for new transactions and amendments with high-quality credit papers
- Analyse borrowing base certificates, loan tapes, and management information to monitor portfolio risk and flag early warnings
Key requirements
- Degree level education or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience in Speciality Finance or related fields (asset-based lending, warehouse lending, or ABS) with proven origination success
- Proven ability to originate and win new business; strong network of intermediary relationships
- Understanding of UK non-bank lending market, including lender operating models and regulatory environment
- Ability to analyse loan tape data, borrowing bases, contractual cashflows, and counterparty financials
- Extensive experience presenting credit applications to senior committees; clear articulation of credit and structural considerations
- Strong financial modelling skills (cash flow, utilisation projections, scenario analysis)
