An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of PMO to join a dynamic and growing consultancy based in Central London. They will be responsible for building a high-performing team, ensuring alignment across cost, schedule, risk, change and estimating - and delivering robust reporting and governance to enable confident, informed decision-making at the highest level.

In this role, you'll lead the development and delivery of an integrated PMO that provides full oversight and assurance across all core Project Controls disciplines - including cost control, estimating, planning and scheduling, risk management, and change control. You'll be responsible for aligning these functions to ensure accurate reporting, informed decision-making, and effective programme governance at the highest level.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, delivery partners, and clients, providing strategic insight and hands-on leadership while building and mentoring a high-performing PMO team. Your ability to influence, embed best practice, and promote a culture of continuous improvement will be essential to success.

To be considered, you'll need proven experience leading PMO or Project Controls teams on major infrastructure, engineering, or capital programmes. A strong understanding of tools and methodologies across the full project controls lifecycle is essential, as is the ability to engage confidently with executive stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

This is a unique opportunity for a PMO leader with a strong Project Controls background to take ownership of the entire PMO function on a major project.

  • Proven experience leading PMO or Project Controls functions on complex, major programmes
  • Deep understanding and hands-on background across multiple Project Controls areas
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard tools and techniques (e.g., Primavera, Risk software, cost systems)
  • Strategic mindset combined with a detail-driven approach
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Sector experience in infrastructure, transportation, energy or defence highly desirable

Salary of up to circa £140,000 per annum, annual bonus, life assurance, pension, healthcare, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, hybrid working week.
