Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to build your career within the water sector? A leading infrastructure contractor delivering long-term frameworks with a major water supplier on the South Coast is seeking a commercially astute QS to join their team in Southampton.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects valued between £5m and £40m across the region. The opportunities are offering long-term job security, structured career progression, and exposure to a major UK utility framework.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the end to end commercial management of key projects local to Southampton. This will include upgrades to waste water treatment works, pumping stations and various water storage sites across the region. Working within an established commercial team, you'll support project delivery from procurement through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of water infrastructure projects
- Subcontract procurement, negotiation, and administration
- Preparation of cost plans, valuations, and financial reporting
- Managing variations, change control, and compensation events
- Supporting monthly CVR reporting and forecasting
- Ensuring compliance with NEC contract terms
- Building strong relationships with internal teams and client representatives
Requirements
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, or civil engineering
- Water sector experience would be highly desirable although not essential
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Commercially astute with strong analytical capability
- Effective communicator with a collaborative approach
