Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a short-term contract supporting engineering governance, lifecycle integration, and process architecture within a complex, regulated aerospace and defence environment. The primary focus of this role is systems engineering integration across the full engineering lifecycle, ensuring processes, tools, and engineering governance frameworks are aligned and effectively implemented across design, development, production, support, and maintenance activities. Quality management and compliance are secondary but important supporting aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and integration of new engineering lifecycle processes across systems engineering environments
  • Define and maintain process architecture, interfaces, and capability flows across engineering functions
  • Support MBSE, PLM, and digital engineering integration into engineering processes and governance
  • Contribute to engineering reviews, technical assurance, and lifecycle governance activities
  • Support process improvement, harmonisation, and systems integration initiatives
  • Assist with audit readiness, KPI development, and root-cause analysis where required
  • Interface with quality and assurance teams to ensure governance alignment

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in systems engineering within complex or regulated environments
  • Experience across full engineering lifecycle integration (design through to support/maintenance)
  • Knowledge of engineering governance, process architecture, and lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with MBSE (SysML advantageous), PLM, and digital engineering tools
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 / AS9100 environments beneficial
  • Experience supporting audits, CAPA, and process improvement activities

  • SIPOCS experience / appreciation
  • Comfortable working across multidisciplinary engineering teams
